If these holidays are a last minute affair, then you may not have had time to see what the area has to offer. Here are a couple ideas of what you could do while staying in Seaton, Devon for your holidays:
• Beer beach
Beer beach is a pebble beach with plenty of rock pools to explore during your holidays. It is a clean dog friendly beech with plenty to do and see. You can hire a boat from the bay to explore the water, or hire deck chairs to sit out and get the most from the sea air. Why not take a picnic from your self -catering accommodation, to enjoy while listening to the waves and soaking up the sunshine? Or you could enjoy some fresh crab sandwiches from one of the local cafes, with their daily supply of fresh fish directly from the very seas you are admiring. The beach also has beech huts available for hire or rent, should you wish to take a dip or two in the blue seas. You can take that book that you have been planning to read for months, and really get stuck in, glancing up only every now and again to simply enjoy the view. Between Beer beach and Seaton beech sits Whitecliff, which when climbed affords a fantastic view. The path that takes you to the top of Whitcliff is part of the UK’s longest national trail. The South West Coast path is part of a 630mile long passage that takes you from Minehead Somerset, along the coast of Devon all the way to Poole Harbour in Dorset. You may meet some of the very ones hiking this trail as you climb the clifftop.
• Seaton beach
If you enjoy trying something a bit more adventurous and energetic during your holidays, why not take yourself off to Seaton and hire a kayak, or paddle board so you can see the Jurassic coast at its best. To really understand the coast and its history, why not visit the museum, Seaton Jurassic? This is the perfect family day out, with plenty of activities and new things to learn. With an on-site restaurant and café, you can spend the whole exploring this attraction.
